Worth knowing before you read on: of 400 practices chosen at random from our directory, 8% publish any price at all and 2.5% say what a consultation costs. That is why this is hard to look up, and it is not your imagination.

How these figures were gathered

Each one was read off a veterinary practice’s own website and is shown with the sentence it appeared in. Nothing is estimated, surveyed or averaged from a third party, a practice that publishes no price is simply absent, and a service appears here only once 5 practices publish it.

Two thirds of the prices we read are not on this page. A figure only appears under a heading when the practice’s own sentence names that service: an e-collar on a spay menu, a waste-disposal fee beside a consultation, a titer test on a vaccination list and a nightly holiday surcharge are all real published prices, and none of them answers the question above it. Promotions and first-visit discounts are out for the same reason, because an offer is not what a thing costs. A published price is a starting point: the practice confirms the price for your animal before the appointment.
