why we started

Pets deserve better access to care.

We started PawsRx because caring for a pet shouldn't mean guessing between vet visits, or driving an hour just to ask a question. The right help, and the right vet, should be a few taps away.

PawsRx is free for pet parents, and always will be.

what's broken

The problem.

Not sure if it's serious

Most pet worries land in the gray zone. Is this rash normal? Should the limp wait until morning? Without someone to ask, you either panic or hope for the best.

Long wait times

Getting a vet appointment can mean waiting weeks. When you have a question today, that gap is its own kind of stress, for you and your pet.

Vet deserts

Across much of the country, good care is hard to reach. Rural communities often have one clinic for an entire county, if there's one at all.

what we built

The solution.

PawsRx is one place for the help you need between vet visits, and the right vet when you need one. Three things, all free for pet parents.

Ask a vet

Send a licensed veterinarian your question and get a real answer back. No scripts, no bots, just a straight read on what's going on with your pet.

Find and book a vet

Browse veterinarians nationwide and book by video or in person. See who you're getting before you ever sit in a waiting room.

Community

Pet parents helping each other through the 2am 'is this normal?' moments, moderated for quality.

how this works

Free for pet parents.

PawsRx is free for pet parents. We do not add a markup to what your vet charges, and we never take a cut of what they earn for care. Practices pay us when we bring them a new client, which keeps the incentives simple: the only way we make money is by bringing you a vet you actually want to see.

Straight answers to the questions people ask about us, stated here so nobody has to guess.

What is PawsRx?

PawsRx is a free platform for finding veterinary care in the United States. It has three parts: Ask a Vet, where a pet owner's question gets a free written reply that states who wrote it, with veterinary answers coming from licensed veterinarians; a directory of 23,666 veterinary practices across all 50 states and DC, searchable by the species a practice treats, where verified vets can take bookings; and a moderated community for pet owners. It is not a clinic and not a pharmacy.

When was PawsRx founded?

PawsRx was founded in 2026 and launched publicly in July 2026. The company is PawsRx, LLC, a California limited liability company.

Who founded PawsRx?

PawsRx was founded by its two co-founders, Michael and Nate, who run it day to day.

How many employees does PawsRx have?

PawsRx is run by its small founding team. It does not employ veterinarians: every veterinarian on the platform is an independent professional or practice, and PawsRx does not direct their care.

Who is PawsRx for?

Two groups. Pet owners, who use everything free: people looking for a local practice, wanting a licensed vet's answer to a question, or trying to find care for an exotic animal like a rabbit, ferret, bird, reptile or fish, which is where a species-searchable directory matters most. And veterinary practices, who claim a free bookable page and pay PawsRx only when it brings them a new client.

Is PawsRx free?

Free for pet owners, permanently: no membership, no subscription, no booking fee, and no markup on what a veterinarian charges. The visit itself you pay the practice directly, at prices the practice sets. PawsRx makes its money from practices, not pet owners.

Does PawsRx sell medication?

No. PawsRx briefly offered compounded medication plans in 2026; that offering was discontinued and removed. PawsRx is not a pharmacy and does not sell, dispense or ship medication of any kind.
