Good to know

Pawssentials prices by your pet's size, coat and needs, and every bath and groom includes the conditioning shampoo, facial, nails, ears and teeth. Gland expression and ear plucking are included on request.

All pets need a current rabies vaccination: a first shot at least 48 hours before the visit, a booster at least 24 hours before. Pets come in on a leash or in a carrier. Baths usually take two to three hours and grooms two to four; you get a 20 to 30 minute heads-up when your pet is ready, and pick-up after closing can carry a $50 fee.

If fleas or ticks turn up, a flea and tick bath is given and billed. Severe mats are not forced out; shaving is often kinder, at $1 a minute for dogs and $2 a minute for cats.
