A Cut Above is a pet salon and day spa in La Verne that specialises in cat, dog, bunny and bird grooming, run by a Certified Companion Animal Hygienist. It serves La Verne, Claremont, San Dimas, North Pomona, Pomona, Glendora and Upland. Hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 8 am to 4 pm, by appointment, and the salon says they can change without notice. New customers get 10% off their first groom.
Alongside the grooming there is a boutique with supplements, natural gourmet treats, pet health products, dog and cat shampoos, toys, clothing, fashion collars and leashes, hair ties, clips and feathers. The salon runs a pet taxi for grooming and vet appointments.
The salon is also home to Animal Wellness Rescue, a volunteer-run, no-kill 501(c) nonprofit that fosters and rehomes toy and small breed dogs, point cats such as Siamese, Tonkinese, Burmese and Himalayan, turtles, tortoises, small exotics and birds. Adoptable pets are spayed or neutered and vaccinated after a two-week quarantine.
Clients are asked to stay behind the gate at drop-off and pick-up, and masks are optional unless you are unwell.
