Good to know
Fur Town's La Verne salon opened on Foothill Blvd on February 28, 2022, as the sister store to the original in Arcadia. It was built by West Coast Grooming Academy, California's first state-approved vocational school for pet grooming, and the salon and the school became separate companies that same year.
The salon goes for a relaxing, spa-like atmosphere with aromatherapy, calming pet pheromones and soothing music, and it grooms cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds and reptiles as well as dogs. Every pet is groomed start to finish without interruption, and the salon calls before your pet is done so it can go home right away; there is an hour's grace for pick-up.
Grooming is by appointment, though same-day appointments are often possible. Bring vaccination records to the first visit: a current rabies vaccination is required for dogs and cats, cats need a vet exam within the past year, and cats must arrive in a secured carrier or a carrier rental is charged. No cat service is guaranteed, and a cat that becomes too stressed is sent home and charged only for the work done.
Friendly, easy-to-handle dogs can be groomed by supervised academy students for up to half off the base package after an assessment groom at the regular price. Frequent cancellations or no-shows can mean a 50% deposit on future bookings. Fur Town also runs mobile grooming vans on their own price list, usually booked three to five weeks ahead.
