The Inland Valley Humane Society & S.P.C.A. is an open-access shelter at 500 Humane Way in Pomona that has provided animal care and control services since 1949, and holds the animal control contract for La Verne along with nine other cities. Its Alex and Elisabeth Lewyt Medical Center, opened in January 2023, runs an appointment-only low-cost clinic for dogs and cats offering exams, vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, dentistry, X-rays and laboratory work.
