Good to know

Every service includes teeth brushing, nail trimming and grinding, a blueberry facial, paw butter, ear cleaning and a shampoo and blow dry matched to the coat.

Topknot is a low-volume, appointment-only salon. The schedule is never overcrowded and appointments are not rushed: each groomer works with only a few pets a day, which keeps the room calm and gives every pet the individual attention it deserves.

Every service is all-inclusive. Teeth brushing, nail clipping and grinding, ear cleaning, paw butter and coat care are always part of the package, because the salon does not treat the essentials as extras. Each groom is built around the dog's coat type and worked at the dog's own pace.

Alisa, who founded Topknot, started volunteering at her local animal shelter at sixteen and found grooming while working at a dog daycare. She is CPR and First Aid certified, an AKC S.A.F.E. certified groomer, Fear Free certified, and holds the American Kennel Club's Professional Grooming Credential, and she has competed at Groom Expo West in Pasadena for several years.

Cats are welcome for baths, nail trims and sanitary trims. Full cat haircuts are not on the menu at this time, and cat baths are booked as the first appointment of the day so the salon is quiet for them.

Light matting can usually be worked out safely. Severe matting normally means a shorter trim, for the dog's comfort and for its skin, and the options are always explained first.
