BarberGroom takes one pet per appointment, so no dog or cat has to wait in a cage. Pets who arrive early or wait for their owners afterwards get their own room with a soft bed, fresh water, toys and a pee pad, and the active ones get a separate play area under supervision.

Coat preparation is where the salon puts its weight: about 70 percent of a good groom comes down to the bath. It runs a multi-step wash with shampoo and conditioner chosen for the coat and skin type, then hand dries with a dryer or high-velocity blower and a brush. Every tool and grooming surface is disinfected after each pet.

Elena Sorokina founded BarberGroom in 2017. She is a certified groomer and an instructor for other groomers, and she studied pet psychology so that the most anxious pets have a calmer visit.
