Good to know

Mimados means "pampered" in Portuguese. Owner Hiago Loiola has groomed professionally since 2012, moved to the United States in 2021 and opened the first Mimados salon in his mother's honor.

The salon is cage-free: dogs who get along are free to play with others, with treats, fresh water and toys, while dogs who need a quieter space get one. Staff are trained in special handling for older dogs and are experienced with deaf, blind and arthritic dogs and dogs with diabetes.

For puppies, the first visit two weeks after their last vaccinations is an introduction to the salon without a clip. A groom every 4 to 6 weeks is recommended. Mimados also has a salon in Newton.
