Good to know
Cateau Marmont is a cat-only grooming and boarding facility and pet shop in Burbank, opened in 2016 by owners who could not find a place they trusted for their own cats. The groomers work with all-natural products and heat-resistant clippers.
Grooming is by appointment only, and the shop is closed every Tuesday except after a Monday holiday. More than ten minutes early or late and you may have to wait at the door. Every cat has to arrive in a carrier, no exceptions.
Wellness appointments are offered to boarding clients, so every client signs a boarding waiver and pays a $3 boarding fee.
A matted cat is an extra charge. A 3.5% animal waste disposal fee is added, and a 3.5% discount is given for paying in cash.
They say it is time for a bath when a cat's coat is discoloured, dirty, oily, smelly or matted, when there is urine or faeces in the fur, or when the coat needs de-shedding and the nails need a trim.

Cat brushes
Long-haired cats mat first behind the ears, under the legs and on the belly. Short, frequent sessions tend to go better than one long one.
