Cat's upper eyelid suddenly swollen but the eye itself looks clear

What they asked

My cats upper eyelid on his one eye is suddenly swollen but his eyeball is clear what does this mean?

Dylan Wilson, DVM Verified VetKY license 293504

There is inflammation in that right eyelid. It could be trauma, cellulitis, or a foreign body causing the swelling. A vet visit would be needed for eyedrops to help with the situation was the vet determines the cause.
