I urgently need a veterinary consultation for my cat

Hello, Doctor. I urgently need a veterinary consultation for my cat. - Age: Approximately 7–8 months old. - Breathing: She is breathing rapidly, with an estimated respiratory rate of 50–56 breaths per minute. Her abdomen moves noticeably with each breath. Her mouth remains closed. - Behavior: She has suddenly become very lethargic. She was usually fearful of me and would run away, but today she has become unusually approachable. - Eating and drinking: She is barely eating or drinking. - Movement: She can walk on all four legs, but she moves very slowly. - Posture: She sometimes extends her head and neck, and repeatedly moves from one place to another as if she cannot get comfortable. - General condition: She appears thin, but she is still responsive and her eyes are open. I am in Marib, Yemen, and I have difficulty accessing a local veterinarian. Could you please provide an urgent online consultation via video call or chat? Please advise me on what I should do immediately. I am concerned that she may be experiencing respiratory distress. Please let me know if this requires emergency treatment.

Want a licensed vet to look at this too? We will put it in front of the vets who answer here, and post their reply on this thread.

If the bill is the part that's hard

Ask the practice first: many will split a bill in-house, and it costs nothing to ask. If not, these are the two plans most pet owners use.

  • Scratchpay. A payment plan for vet bills you apply for in about a minute, used at the practices that take it.
  • CareCredit. A card for health and vet costs that most practices accept.

PawsRx may be paid when you apply. Approval and terms are the lender's, we never see your application, and we don't choose one for you.
