Veterinarians in Amarillo, TX

Out of hours. 3 of the 11 Amarillo practices whose website we have read describe urgent or emergency work. They are listed together on the Amarillo urgent care page. That is what a practice says about itself, not a promise it is open now, so phone before you drive.

Weekends. 4 of the 6 that publish opening hours name a Saturday or Sunday time. The rest publish weekday hours only.

Who owns them. 1 of the 16 listings in Amarillo are branches of national groups, about 6%; the other 15 trade under their own name. Neither is better on its own, but it changes what to ask: a group branch is more likely to have standard pricing and a phone queue, an independent more likely to have the same veterinarian see your animal each visit. Chain locations are listed together on the chains pages.

Beyond dogs and cats. 6 Amarillo practices tell us which other animals they treat. 1 sees birds, 1 sees small mammals and 2 see horses.

What is missing. None of those 6 mentions rabbits, reptiles, ferrets, amphibians, fish, other exotics. Practices that see these animals are uncommon everywhere and worth travelling for, so it is worth widening the search rather than assuming the nearest clinic will take one: rabbit vets nationwide, reptile vets nationwide, ferret vets nationwide.
