Veterinarians in Rockville, MD

Out of hours. 1 of the 15 Rockville practices whose website we have read describe urgent or emergency work. That is what a practice says about itself, not a promise it is open now, so phone before you drive.

Weekends. 9 of the 12 that publish opening hours name a Saturday or Sunday time. The rest publish weekday hours only.

Who owns them. 4 of the 21 listings in Rockville are branches of national groups, about 19%; the other 17 trade under their own name. Neither is better on its own, but it changes what to ask: a group branch is more likely to have standard pricing and a phone queue, an independent more likely to have the same veterinarian see your animal each visit. Chain locations are listed together on the chains pages.

Beyond dogs and cats. 9 Rockville practices tell us which other animals they treat. 1 sees rabbits, 1 sees reptiles, 1 sees small mammals and 1 sees ferrets.

What is missing. None of those 9 mentions birds, amphibians, fish, horses, other exotics. Practices that see these animals are uncommon everywhere and worth travelling for, so it is worth widening the search rather than assuming the nearest clinic will take one: bird vets nationwide, amphibian vets nationwide, fish vets nationwide.
