Veterinarians in Stockton, CA

Out of hours. None of the 12 Stockton practices we have read describes itself as taking urgent or emergency cases. That does not mean none does, only that none says so on its own site, so an out-of-hours problem here is worth phoning ahead about rather than driving to the nearest address.

Weekends. 4 of the 6 that publish opening hours name a Saturday or Sunday time. The rest publish weekday hours only.

Who owns them. 2 of the 16 listings in Stockton are branches of national groups, about 13%; the other 14 trade under their own name. Neither is better on its own, but it changes what to ask: a group branch is more likely to have standard pricing and a phone queue, an independent more likely to have the same veterinarian see your animal each visit. Chain locations are listed together on the chains pages.

Beyond dogs and cats. 10 Stockton practices tell us which other animals they treat. 2 see birds and 1 sees other exotics.

What is missing. None of those 10 mentions rabbits, reptiles, small mammals, ferrets, amphibians, fish, horses. Practices that see these animals are uncommon everywhere and worth travelling for, so it is worth widening the search rather than assuming the nearest clinic will take one: rabbit vets nationwide, reptile vets nationwide, small mammal vets nationwide.
