The quickest way to find a vet whose team speaks Spanish is to look for it on the practice's own website, in words like Se habla español or Hablamos español, and then call to ask who speaks it and when they are in. Below is where practices listed on PawsRx say so on their own sites, counted by state and city.
516 practices listed on PawsRx say on their own website that Spanish is spoken there, in 40 states. The most are in California (80), Florida (75) and Texas (75).

Practices with Spanish speakers on the team usually say so plainly: Se habla español, Hablamos español, or a line saying the team speaks English and Spanish. On a PawsRx listing, that sentence appears under Languages, in the section that quotes the practice's own website, copied word for word with the website it came from and the date we read it. A line in one veterinarian's biography is not counted, because that person may not be the one who sees you.
Qué preguntar cuando llames
- Who on the team speaks Spanish, and will they be in on the day of my appointment?
- Does the veterinarian speak Spanish, or does someone on the team interpret during the visit?
- Can I get written instructions or a visit summary in Spanish?
- Can I make the appointment in Spanish over the phone?
Some practices say in their own words that Spanish is spoken most office hours, or that some of the team speaks it. Asking who and when saves a visit at a time when nobody who speaks Spanish is in.
Si no hay ninguna cerca de ti
Not every practice with a Spanish speaker says so on its website, so it is worth asking any practice nearby. If nobody there speaks Spanish, bring someone who can interpret, and write down before the visit what you want to ask and what you have noticed, with dates. On PawsRx Ask a Vet, you can also write your question to a licensed veterinarian in Spanish.
Common questions
How do I find a Spanish-speaking vet near me?
Look for Se habla español or Hablamos español on the practice's own website, then call and ask who speaks Spanish and when they work. PawsRx counts the practices whose own site says Spanish is spoken, by state and city, on this page, and shows the practice's own sentence on its listing.
Does every vet at a bilingual practice speak Spanish?
Not necessarily. A practice saying Spanish is spoken there can mean one or two people on the team rather than every veterinarian on every shift, and some practices say so in those words. Ask who speaks Spanish and whether they will be there at your appointment.
No necesariamente.
Does PawsRx recommend these practices?
No. A practice is counted because its own website says Spanish is spoken there, in a sentence we copied and checked on the page. We have not tested anyone's Spanish, and this is not a recommendation. PawsRx is a directory and does not provide veterinary care.
PawsRx is a platform, not a clinic. The counts are practices listed on PawsRx whose own website says Spanish is spoken there, and they grow as more practice websites are read. Nothing here is medical advice.
