Owner David Walter trained at the New York School of Dog Grooming in Manhattan and wrote the book Dog Grooming and Pet Care: Doing It With Style. His assistant groomer Beverly trained in Georgetown and has worked with him for over 20 years.

The shop takes on matted, nervous, elderly and difficult dogs and grooms by hand with no shortcuts. Call by 11:00 am to be fitted in the same day; out-of-area customers who call ahead can usually have a pet fully groomed in about two hours.

Cats are groomed in limited numbers. On a cat's first visit the owner usually stays during clipping.

Free street parking is usually available within a couple of blocks of the shop.
