The stylists at Well Groomed Pets Summerlin are AKC Safe and Fear Free certified, and groomers must pass the AKC Safe Groomer exam with a score of 90% or higher. Products are Hydra shampoos and conditioners chosen for the breed.

Every visit includes a wellness evaluation in which groomers note coat, skin and behavior. The salon is clear that it is not a veterinary clinic and the evaluation does not replace visits to the dog's vet.

All dogs need current rabies and Bordetella vaccinations, plus parvo for puppies under six months.

A visit averages about two and a half hours; small dogs can be quicker and large dogs can take three to four hours. The salon suggests grooming every six to eight weeks, and every three to four weeks for poodles and doodles.
