Good to know
On a first visit the groomer meets you at check-in to agree the cut; photos help, and it is the time to mention any health or behaviour issues or injuries. Bathers do the bath and blow dry first, then the groomer finishes the rest, and the salon calls or texts when the dog is nearly done.
A small dog usually takes about 2 to 2.5 hours and a large dog 2.5 to 4 hours. Owners are asked not to stay and watch, as dogs settle better without them.
For grooming, only an up-to-date rabies vaccine is required; puppies need age-appropriate shots. A first puppy visit at about 3 to 4 months is ideally a bath or touch up, with a first trim for long-haired breeds around 5 to 6 months.
