Good to know

Pooch à la Mode is a luxury dog grooming spa using only vegan, cruelty-free products. Groomers take notes on each dog's skin and coat to choose products and a grooming schedule. Asian-style grooming is the specialty, but the salon does all styles and breeds.

The salon is disinfected after every groom. Dogs are crated while they wait and should be picked up within an hour of the ready call. Most grooms take about 2.5 hours, sometimes 3 or more for bigger dogs. A bath is always part of a haircut.

For badly matted dogs the salon recommends starting over with a short cut and a regular schedule. The salon no longer plucks ears or expresses anal glands. A dog with known fleas or ticks should be treated before the appointment; if fleas or ticks are found during a groom, a flea and tick shampoo is added at extra charge.

Free street parking is right outside on Archer Avenue.
