Good to know
Madame Pompador has groomed dogs in South Gate since 1961, when the founder started with $300, hand-painted signs and drying cages she built herself. Her son, who handles most large dogs and special baths, and her daughter-in-law, who specializes in Yorkies and mixed breeds, groom alongside her.
Shampoos run from all-purpose and whitening to oatmeal and medicated. Aloe vera is grown on site and blended fresh each day.
The shop also offers local pick-up and delivery.
