Two days ago she had vomiting and soft stool, so I took her to the vet
Hi, I’m looking for advice about my kitten Miso. Two days ago she had vomiting and soft stool, so I took her to the vet. Her temperature, gums, and heart rate were normal. The vet suspected GI irritation and gave her injections for vomiting, acid reflux/stomach irritation, and B12, plus a special diet. Since then, she’s been eating less than usual and her stool is still soft/blob-like, but not watery and there’s no blood or straining. Yesterday she vomited what looked like a hairball, and her vet agreed it was most likely a hairball. She had recently been spayed and, after her cone came off, she groomed herself excessively for a full day. Today she vomited again. She is still drinking, using the litter box, and playing a little, but she gets tired quickly and seems somewhat off. I’m also in a difficult financial situation right now because I recently paid for her spay and the previous vet visit, so I may not be able to afford another in-person visit for a few days unless it’s absolutely necessary. Could this still be a recovering GI upset/hairball situation, and what should I safely do at home for now? Most importantly, what red flags would mean she needs urgent in-person care despite the financial situation?
