Dog's eye red, held shut and full of pus for two days, and getting worse
What they asked
For the past two days, I’ve noticed the eye looks painful and has turned red, with constant pus discharge. This morning, the inside of the eye is red and there is a lot of pus; she keeps it closed, and it seems painful. It’s getting worse and worse. What do I do
Sorry to see you're concerned for her eye. I would take her to a veterinarian as soon as possible. The picture is showing obvious conjunctivitis and tear staining. She will need prescription medications to bring that swelling and pain down. An examination would also be beneficial to make sure there isn't a foreign body causing the swelling as well. It can get worse if she is pawing and scratching at the eye as well.
