Dog's dry-eye drops cause pain when applied: can one be stopped before the course ends?

Willow was diagnosed with dry eye & bacterial infection on Thursday & vet gave neomycin & polymyxin b sulfates & dexamethasone ophthalmic for 3 days & optimmune/cyclosporin for 7 days. The drops burn her & cause extreme pain when first put in. She has to take drops for 3 more times. Can we stop the drops & continue the other?
Sorry to hear about the medication situation. I would give the medications as prescribed by your veterinarian. Stopping a prescribed medication would not be beneficial. Complications for not addressing an eye infection can lead to cornea ulceration and or perforation of the eye. Eye and skin conditions have some of the highest medication frequencies for owners to adhere to and I understand the frustration.
