Good to know

The Bethesda salon is open Monday to Saturday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Elysiem is an appointment-only, cage-free grooming salon: fewer dogs a day, no crating, and most grooms done within 2 to 3 hours. Pets are bathed before every styling.

The salon offers home pick-up and drop-off in its own vehicles. Appointments open in 3-month blocks, so book well ahead; a waitlist covers last-minute openings. A sister salon is in Park Potomac.

Arriving more than 15 minutes late adds a $30 fee, pets that need a second stylist add $25, and late pick-ups are charged after 30 minutes. Severely matted coats are clipped short after a call to the owner.

Something to lick, stuck to the tub wall or the floor, keeps a lot of dogs still for a bath or a nail trim.
